Pentridge Prison Mural

Reducing the rate of reoffending by encouraging the exploration of identity and culture through art.

Client: The Torch
Delivered: 1 x 8min artist video

The Torch is an organisation providing art and cultural support to First Nations people currently in, or recently released, from Victorian prisons. Their aim is to reduce the rate of reoffending by encouraging the exploration of identity and culture through art.

This year they are holding an exhibition at the Heide Gallery and wanted a video that shares the story of a mural painted at Pentridge Prison.

We concepted, scripted and produced a video that uses the mural as the spine of the story, using sections of the artwork as the catalyst for talking about the bigger themes of the video.
