ABOUT US

We are a 100% Indigenous owned production company crafting social justice, environmental, community and Indigenous stories.

Founded in 2023 by Monero, Walbunja, and Worimi filmmaker Daniel King, a seasoned practitioner in factual filmmaking, First Person Films aims to create video content that provokes change in both its audience and the individuals involved in stories related to environmental, social, and Indigenous issues.

With an innate understanding of storytelling, we have worked across Australia in various settings, from cities to rural and remote communities, as well as internationally, navigating the intricacies of storytelling in diverse environments.

First Person Films produces a range of high quality factual videos for socially conscious audiences or those seeking to understand and empathise with characters striving for personal or community change. We work with organisations to create digital media that archives, educates, and promotes Indigenous content.

OUR PEOPLE

OUR APPROACH

First Person Films aims to promote diversity and inclusivity within the Australian film and television industry and to create high-quality, authentic content.

Community Engagement

We engage with community members respectfully and collaboratively throughout the production process enabling us to platform diverse perspectives, stories, and talents. We have a policy for working with Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) in place, which provides a practical governance framework for clients and collaborators, and an internal reference for preventing and resolving issues during development, production, post-production, distribution, marketing and archival use.

Impactful content

Whether we’re crafting a feature length documentary or a three minute brand film our approach is always the same; we craft narratives that are not only informative but resonate with our audiences emotionally.

At the heart of our work is our commitment to producing the highest quality factual content that educates, promotes, archives and inspires change.

Socially responsible

We have a genuine desire to contribute to our communities by providing a platform for marginalised voices and authentically amplifying storytelling by Indigenous people. We hope to partner with you to contribute to the legacy of indigenous storytelling and cultural heritage preservation through impactful video productions.
